Meet Our Team
Steve Roon
Steve spent his childhood in upstate New York, competing in jumpers and riding in the hunt. He took a hiatus from horses to raise a family before taking up eventing more than 15 years ago. He’s been involved with the Park ever since: competing, doing Horsemasters with the Pony Club, and serving on the Board of Governors, before taking the reins as Executive Director in 2020. He’s got an undergraduate degree from Rochester Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from Claremont Graduate School. His professional background is sales and marketing management of medical devices and diagnostics in large, multi-national companies and young startups.
Executive Director
Jason Attard
Jason grew up in Half Moon Bay and is a Western trainer (West Coast Performance Horses), but did stints as a farrier, hauler, ranch hand, and even heavy equipment operator. He’s shown both English and Western, but most enjoys reining and cow horse competitions. Since 2020, he’s brought his invaluable wealth of experience and thoughtful, can-do attitude to help in myriad aspects of the Park.
Facilities Manager
Adam Silver
Adam, born and raised in Silicon Valley, isn’t a horse person per se, but as a
youngster he rode and hiked the Sierra Nevada with his dad and spent summers in
Cleveland visiting the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club shows. In school, he focused on
gymnastics (rising to #1 in the rings in Northern California), then played soccer in
high school and college. He earned a Philosophy and Psychology undergrad degree
while working as an EMT and Volunteer Fireman. After teaching English in the
Peace Corps, he got an MBA from San Jose State and a Masters in Community and
Economic Development from Pennsylvania State. His Peace Corps experience
sparked 25 years of traveling and working overseas in the International
Development sector in Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Namibia, Haiti, Tanzania,
Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Vietnam. He’s passionate about non-
profits and mission-driven organizations and worked for the likes of the
International Rescue Committee and Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
Office Manager
Madison Colgate
Madison joined the team after spending a few years in hospitality. She has a degree in English Creative Writing from San Jose State University. She grew up riding horses with her mom and rediscovered her passion during a volunteer stint with horses in Joshua Tree. Now, she leases a horse in Woodside and is building her confidence and horsemanship every day. At the Park, she manages boarding operations, handles social media, memberships, updates the website, and takes care of park communications.
