Warning Description: Excessive Heat Warning, Heat Advisory
Warning Date: 11:51 am PDT on July 10, 2008
WarningSum:...Excessive Heat Warning Remains In Effect Until 11 Am Pdt
Friday...
Warning Message:...Heat advisory remains in effect from 11 am to 8 PM PDT
Friday...
An excessive heat warning remains in effect until 11 am PDT
Friday. A heat advisory remains in effect from 11 am to 8 PM PDT
Friday.
Hot weather is expected to continue across interior portions of the San
Francisco an Monterey Bay areas through Friday afternoon of this
week. Highs in many areas on today will be between 95 and 105
degrees with 110 in spots while overnight lows in many places will
only cool to between 65 and 75 degrees with some higher elevation
areas over 1000 feet staying in the 80s overnight. The combination
of the very hot daytime temperatures and warm conditions at night
will make for dangerous conditions. Very warm weather is expected
again for Friday. Some relief is forecast for the weekend as
cooler weather returns to the area.
This heat warning and advisory product is being issued utilizing
a new heat health warning system. It is specific to the areas
included. It is targeted at the elderly... or infirmed... who
might be much more sensitive to heat and thus at greater risk.
Individuals who fall into this category should be especially
careful by drinking plenty of water...reducing outdoor
exposure...staying out of the sun...seeking a cooler location for
the day if no air conditioning is available in the living
quarters...and asking a friend or relative to check on you
frequently. For more preparedness tips visit
