CTETA
Annual Membership Meeting
May
19, 2004 -- 7:00pm -- Location TBA
At
the end of last year, CTETA's Board of Governors postponed the 2003
annual meeting of members. It is now scheduled for May 19th at 7:00pm,
location TBA. All members will receive a notice of the meeting in
the mail along with a proxy if you are unable to attend. Please
plan to attend this important meeting to vote on CTETA's Board of
Governors and to learn about our status with the County permitting
process.
FINAL
Permit Applications Submitted
Last
October,
after months of data gathering mandated by the County, The Horse
Park submitted all reports and final documentation required to complete
our permit applications. So far, comments from the County have been
minor issues of clarification only. We now await the County's announcement
of public hearings. To help the Horse Park get its permits,
please attend these public hearings! An overwhelming
show of support at the public hearings can make all the difference
in the future of the Horse Park. Watch for flyers, web announcements
and email notices. Your presence can make a difference!
Eventing
WILL Return to the Horse Park
Regrettably,
due to County restrictions while working to get our permits, we
have had to temporarily cancel Eventing activities. This hiatus
is for the interim operating period only, during the permitting
process. Once we've obtained our permits, we plan to resume all
Eventing activities just as soon as possible. Watch the website
for updates and schedules. We ask for your patience as we rebuild
and improve our Eventing facility. CTETA remains 100% committed
to promoting the sport of Eventing and will be back even better
than before.
First
Phase of Fundraising a Success!
Thanks
to our many wonderful supporters, the Horse Park has completed phase
one of it's multi-phase fundraising plan. Nearly 200 donors have
made an inspiring show of support. Combined with the Board challenge
and a very generous $250,000 gift from Ms. Phoebe Hearst Cooke,
the Horse Park is on its way to becoming a first class equestrian
facility. Support the Horse Park -- join the
Horse Park Preservation Initiative!
Interim
Conditions are Only Temporary
Last
March, following initial submission of permit applications, the
Horse Park received interim operating requirements from the County
of San Mateo. It is important to remember that these conditions
and requirements are ONLY TEMPORARY — in force during the permitting
process only! We hope and expect to get our permits within
the year. For a PDF copy of the County's Interim Operating Requirements
for the Horse Park, click

Your
Patience is Appreciated
As we work doggedly through the permit process
and continue to raise funds to cover the associated costs, we appreciate
your patience with the facility. With financial constraints and a
skeletal staff, we are working to improve conditions at the Horse
Park. You can help by joining
the
Horse Park Preservation Initiative.
